AMEDD Center and School Basic Industrial Hygiene Techniques(Sponsor: AMEDD Center and School) This course prepares students to control environmental factors in the workplace that may impair health among workers or in the community. ARMY Blueprint and Design Review Course(Sponsor: USAPHC) Instruction on the basics of blueprint organization and structure, technical requirements for specific design criteria and evaluation procedures for performing a sound design review. THIS COURSE WILL BE HOSTED 6-10 OCTOBER 2014 AND IS LIMITED TO 40 PARTICIPANTS. Registration will close when the course is full.
Army Noise Measurements and Assessments(Sponsor: USAPHC) Instruction on how to identify situations with the potential to cause noise-induced hearing loss or vibration-related injury, to conduct appropriate measurements to evaluate worker exposure, and to discuss evaluation methods. Module will be open in Blackboard from 1 September-30 November 2013, and 1 January-31 March 2014.

Basic Epidemiology for the Industrial Hygienist(Sponsor: USAPHC) This online module is designed to teach BASIC LEVEL Epidemiology. The module is recommended for EARLY CAREER PROFESSIONAL CP12 careerists and hygienists. Module will be open in Blackboard from 1 September-30 November 2, and 1 January-31 March. CIH Noise Math Preparation(Sponsor: USAPHC) This class was designed to improve student skills in the Noise and Hearing Loss IH Competency and prepare OHS staff for the noise math rubric of the CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist). Course available 1 September-30 November, 1 January-31 March, and 1 May-1 July 31.
Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System-Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH)(Sponsor: USAPHC) This course is designed to teach students how to use the Defense Occupational and Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System-Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH) web-based application. This course is provided for Industrial Hygiene staff members who will be actively entering data into the DOEHRS-IH application at an Industrial Hygiene Program Office.
Defense Occupational and Environmental Health Readiness System-Industrial Hygiene (DOEHRS-IH) Industrial Hygiene: FOR CTC EMPLOYEES ONLY (Sponsor: USAPHC PHCR-South) This course is designed to teach students to use the DOEHRS-IH information management system. DOEHRS-IH is a web-based application that is used to collect industrial hygiene survey information. In order to be eligible to attend, the prerequisites listed in the course description must be completed and current. Course dates will be posted as soon as a new class is scheduled. Due to the Fiscal Environment, this course has been suspended until further notice.
Direct Reading Gas and Vapor Instrumentation(Sponsor USAPHC) This class will provide instruction on use of PID, FID, and IR equipment to include theories, methodologies, materials needed for calibration, sampling, sampling method and steps, and entering the sampling data into DOEHRS-IH. Course is geared toward Career Program 12 professionals and careerists.
GHS UPDATE(Sponsor: USAPHC) This class provides OHS professionals information regarding the HAZCOM/GHS change, updates from OSHA, and the procedure for recording DoD HAZCOM inspection and deficiency data. This class does NOT meet the December 2013 Employer training requirements. This class is designed for industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety professionals. Course available 1 September-30 November, 1 January-31 March, and 1 May-1 July 31.
HVAC Components & Controls(Sponsor: USAPHC) This online module is designed to differentiate between various types HVAC Components and Controls, how to identify criteria for use as general dilution ventilation controls, and demonstrate how to apply related calculations. Industrial Hygiene Statistics(Sponsor: USAPHC) This online module is provided using Blackboard and gives participants knowledge of the basic concepts and logic of statistical reasoning, and a practical ability to choose, generate, and properly interpret appropriate descriptive and inferential methods. The module also helps students recognize the diverse applications of statistics in the DOEHRS-IH data repository, and its relevance to Army Industrial Hygiene staff member job duties. Module will be open in Blackboard from 1 January-31 March 2014.
Industrial Hygiene Work Environments: Fire Protective Services(Sponsor: USAPHC) This online module is provided using Blackboard and gives participants knowledge of the basic concepts and use of the DoD Exposure Assessment Model for the Fire Protective Services Common Process. The module also helps students recognize and record occupational health hazard data in the DOEHRS-IH data repository, and make appropriate recommendations for this similar exposure group. Module will be open in Blackboard from 1 January-31 March 2014.
Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, and Safety Professionals: Making the Connection with Health Promotion - the Healthy Worker(Sponsor: USAPHC) This online module is provided using Blackboard and is designed to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to assist in developing, implementing health promotion activities designed to eliminate or mitigate health risks in the workplace and to ensure that worker exposures documented by the IH are not unknowingly affected by confounders that may be potentiated. Module will be open in Blackboard from 1 January-31 March 2014.
Intermediate Industrial Hygiene Topics Course(Co-sponsored with AMEDD Center and School) This course provides continuing education in technical aspects and core competencies of industrial hygiene. Specific content may vary from year to year depending upon current issues. This course is a two-part course. The first week is a mandatory series of Defense Connect Online Sessions that provide slides and lectures on Industrial Hygiene Core Competency-based material. The second week of this course is face-to-face at Edgewood, MD and includes a series of practicums to support sampling and field evaluation techniques.
Introduction to Bio-Safety Cabinets and Labs(Sponsor: USAPHC) This online module is designed to teach INTRODUCTORY LEVEL Bio-Safety Cabinets & Labs. The module is recommended for early career technicians and hygienists, as well as safety and occupational health employees. This online module is designed to provide participants with knowledge of equipment and procedures which is essential when working in labs that can contain potentially lethal organisms (i.e BSL2 clinical microbiology labs, BLS3 LRN labs). Module will be open in Blackboard from 1 January-31 March 2014.
Introduction to Industrial Hygiene for OHS Professionals - 40 hr(Sponsor: USAPHC) Similar to the OSHA 521 Course, this course addresses industrial hygiene practices and related Industrial Hygiene Standards, Regulations, and Committees. Topics include occupational exposure limits, the AIHA based DoD Exposure Assessment Model, engineering controls, hazard communication, sampling and instrumentation procedures, exposure assessment strategies, workplace health stressor programs, and other industrial hygiene topics. The course features the Army's processes for health hazard recognition, evaluation, and control using the DoD Exposure Assessment Model. This course does meet CP12 requirements for series 0018. COURSE CONTENT AND SELF ENROLLMENT IN BLACKBOARD IS ONLY AVAILABLE DURING THE ADVERTISED ACADEMIC QUARTER DATES. 1 September-30 November 2013, and 1 January-31 March 2014.

Laboratory Construction Basics(Sponsor: USAPHC) The Laboratory Construction Basics Course provides CP-12 careerists with instruction on basic concepts of laboratory construction and design which are valuable skills that can be incorporated directly to the job responsibilities of careerists who may have clients that are building, upgrading, renovating or reviewing laboratories. A Public Health Command engineer from program 55 Industrial Hygiene Field Services provides instruction on major aspects of laboratory construction and design. Physical Environment Essentials for MTF Personnel(Sponsor: USAPHC) The course is geared to military and civilians who are responsible for one or more of the Physical Environment Programs. This includes: Safety Managers/Security Officers/Facility Managers/Safety Committee Members/Emergency Management Coordinators/Environmental Science/Engineering Officers/Industrial Hygienists/Hazardous Waste Coordinators, and Medical Equipment Repairers.
