Pathogen diagnostics: We have the capability to test sandflies, ticks, mosquitoes, and fleas as well as animal blood and tissue for a wide range of disease-causing organisms. Our capabilities include pathogen detection for the causative agents of malaria, leishmaniasis, Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, tularemia, sandfly fever, dengue fever, West Nile virus, tick-borne encephalitis virus and other diseases of military relevance world-wide.
Pathogen analysis support: We provide protocols, methodologies, and pathogen analysis to other DoD labs as needed to support the One Health USAPHC Mission goals of safe people, animals, and the environment.
Vector-borne and zoonotic disease surveillance planning: We provide consultative services, guidance and supplies in the way of collection kits to support arthropod vector and animal reservoir surveillance. |
