Training is provided to soldiers on the principles and operations of the Medical Equipment Set-Industrial Hygiene (MES-IH) Kit, which is fielded worldwide with Preventive Medicine (PM) deployed personnel.

The MES-IH Kit is the only IH tool available to PM personnel that is designed for the sole purpose of assessing potential chemical and physical hazards in forward deployed environments.

The MES-IH Kit provides a screening tool to detect selected chemical and physical hazards that may adversely impact the health and safety of personnel during deployed operations and includes:

Toxic Gas Monitor
Sound Level Meter
Gas Detector Tubes 
Light Meter
WBGT or Heat Stress Monitor
