The following personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force or other DoD organizations: Occupational health nurses and physicians; Industrial hygienists; Bioenvironmental engineers; Preventive medicine nurses and physicians; Physician assistants; Safety personnel; Optometrists, Ophthalmologists and Eye technicians and anyone else with an interest in vision conservation, vision surveillance and/or vision readiness.
Description

This 2-day live training event covers all elements of a Vision Conservation and Readiness Program (VCRP).  It concentrates on regulatory requirements

and recommended practices to establish or enhance an installation vision conservation and readiness program. The "team" aspect of coordinating

Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and Optometry personnel is emphasized.  The online portion of the course is no longer required and not

eligible for CEU credit.

Topics covered include:  Tri-Service Vision Conservation and Readiness (TSVCR) Program Introduction, Occupational Safety Standards, Military Vision

Readiness, Physical Ocular Trauma, Chemical Ocular Trauma, Non-ionizing Radiation & Ocular Trauma, Environmental Vision Topics, Occupational Vision

and Visual Performance, Site Surveys & Surveillance, and Local VCRP Implementation and VCRP Lessons Learned & Recommendations.

The course is being resubmitted for credit in ATRRS and is currently pending.  To obtain that credit, all personnel must complete the entire 2 day live training event.
