This workshop will focus on CONUS hazardous waste and regulated medical waste management within Healthcare Facilities (HCF). Specific topics include proper identification, classification, segregation, accumulation, storage, transport, and disposal of the various waste streams from an Army HCF. The training is also designed to reduce the number of negative audit findings involving HCF waste management and provide information to address common findings.
Purpose: To reduce risks and hazards associated with HW and RMW management within the military HCF. The training is designed to provide regulatory and procedural knowledge and reduce the number of negative audit findings involving HCF waste management.
At the end of this workshop, the attendee will be able to:
1) Identify hazardous wastes and regulated medical wastes generated in a HCF.
2) Explain how to properly classify, segregate, accumulate, store, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste and regulated medical wastes.
