This is a BASIC level course.
1. Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of health risk analysis: establish an exposure assessment strategy; collect basic characterization information (workplace, work force, and agents); assess exposures to the work force; prioritize health risks; implement monitoring and control strategies for unacceptable exposures; schedule and perform periodic reassessments as necessary; and document and communicate health risk exposures.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of how to establish an exposure assessment strategy.
3. Demonstrate knowledge of how to collect basic characterization information (workplace, work force, and agents).
4. Demonstrate knowledge of how to prioritize health risks.
5. Demonstrate knowledge of how to implement monitoring and control strategies for unacceptable exposures.

This class provides OHS professionals information regarding the HAZCOM/GHS change, updates from OSHA, and the procedure for recording DoD HAZCOM inspection and deficiency data. This class does NOT meet the December 2013 Employer training requirements. This class is designed for industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety professionals.

CLASS MATERIALS:

Slide Deck notes pages will be available on Blackboard prior to the start of the course. You may wish to print these and have them available during class. Bring materials to take notes (pens, pencils, highlighter, self-stick tabs, etc.) A scientific calculator is required.

CERTIFICATES, CEUs & POINTS:

Certificates are issued to students who achieve a passing score. Attendance of all online module sections is required in order to receive a certificate for the module. ABIH provides CM points for this module to those who are eligible. CEUs are issued by Career Program 12 for this module to those who meet all passing requirements.
