Charting the Course to a Healthier Force follows the health promotion program framework specified in AR 600-63.
Content includes: health promotion program planning, goal setting, implementation, use of a business plan and communication tools, and evaluation. Attendees will gain knowledge and skills through lecture, discussion, and practical exercises. The webinar series will be conducted in three phases: pre-course self-study module preparation materials and pre-test o milBook; 12 webinars over Microsoft Teams and post-test, and an individual application project.
Webinar Objectives are: 1) Identify and describe the key aspects of Army Health Promotion as described in Army Regulation 600-63 2) Describe the vision, mission, goals and objectives of Army health promotion programs 3) Explain the five functional areas in developing effective evidence-based health promotion programs 4) Develop the core facets of a health promotion program or initiative based on a case study to demonstrate comprehension of key aspects of a health promotion program.
Participation: There is no registration fee for this webinar series. The webinar attendance is limited to 80 participants. Charting the Course to a Healthier Force webinar sessions are offered weekly for 12 weeks via Microsoft Teams. For your convenience, there will be two webinars conducted, per topic, each week. Webinars will be offered on Tuesday at 0900 HRS Eastern time and repeated Thursday at 1700 HRS Eastern time. This will allow you flexibility in your scheduling and/or a chance to listen to the webinar again if you wish.
Continuing Education Units Credits/Workshop Completion Requirements : Up to 24 CECH Category 2 credits for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES); up to 24 CPEUs for registered dietitians/dietetic techs; up to 24 CNEs approved for nurses and up to 12 CMEs PRA Category through MEDCOM Continuing Medical Education Division for health care providers; clinicians, physicians, PAs and non-clinical health care providers; OT, PT, RD, EAP and other public health specialists. Participants will be required to complete all tests, attend all webinars and complete the post webinar project with a competency level of 80% before receiving a certificate of completion and credits. Webinar attendance is monitored and participants will not be permitted to enter a session after the first 15 minutes. Missed webinars can be approved for extenuating circumstances; TDY, mission requirements, or family emergencies only, not for vacation.
