What are Self-Care Charts?
This page provides self-care algorithms that can assist you in managing minor ailments without needing to see a provider. Not every symptom has a self-care chart listed. This section covers common symptoms that may be minor enough to be treated with self-care measures. If you have a symptom that is not listed, see a health care provider.
Each chart includes a brief introduction to each symptom along with a list of questions to help you decide whether to: (1) Get medical help right away; (2) Go to Sick Call; or (3) Use a self-care measure.
Read each symptom evaluation question and follow the YES or NO arrows. If you answer NO to all the questions listed for a condition and reach the bottom of the chart, then it is probably appropriate for you to use self-care measures.
Please note: Self-Testing Diagnosis Kits are not currently available.
